Former Grand Slam tennis star Bob Hewitt has been jailed for 6 years in case of raping

Former Grand Slam tennis star Bob Hewitt from Australia has been jailed for 6 years by a South African Court in case of raping underage girls.Hewitt was found guilty in March of two counts of rape and one of sexual assault on girls he was coaching in the 1980's and 90's.Judge said Justice must has been seen to be done,even for over the age of 55.Hewitt's wife Delaille had begged the court to show mercy and not award a custodial sentence.But judge said the striking similarities among the three testimonies showed that Hewitt's conduct was calculated and the tennis champion has also been ordered to pay a fine to the South African Department of Justice ,which will help fund its campaigns against sexual abuse.
